My Counselling Approach
I am a qualified Counsellor with wide experience of working with a variety of mental health and emotional concerns.
I am trained as an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor using approaches such as Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and CBT.
This enables me to tailor the work that we do together to your unique individual needs. I say unique because I believe that every interaction and situation that we experience throughout our lives creates who we are today in the here and now.
This influences our thoughts and behaviours and the very relationship we have with ourselves. Over time we learn to adapt and develop strategies to help us cope with negative experiences and difficult emotions, but these coping strategies can also hold us back.
Counselling can really help us to gain fresh insight and understanding of emotions, behaviours and relationships and shed some light on why we feel the way we do.
My belief is that you already have the tools and resources that you need for change to happen and that given the right conditions in therapy you can discover solutions or find some level of balance or acceptance around your experiences.
